The role

We are seeking Electrical Engineers to join our expert B2B and AI research network. This project supports the development of next-generation AI models by capturing how experienced engineers approach real-world CAD design challenges and validation workflows.

Please note: This is an invitation to join our expert talent pool. Participation in individual projects is not guaranteed and will depend on client demand and profile fit.

Researchers for this project typically pay $120/hour for the main study. Participants must first complete a paid vetting survey and a screening call before being invited to the study.

What you'll bring

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field
  • Strong proficiency with open-source CAD software (e.g., FreeCAD, KiCad, or similar)
  • Python development experience with the ability to write and execute scripts independently (Desirable but not mandatory)
  • Experience writing validation scripts (not just using pre-built tools) (Desirable but not mandatory)
  • Comfortable working from the command line (Desirable but not mandatory)
  • Comfortable using Linux and/or Windows environments
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
  • A reliable internet connection and access to a computer

What you'll be doing in the role

  • Design physical objects suitable for 3D printing using open-source CAD software.
  • Complete engineering design tasks while your workflow, including tool usage, clicks, and design decisions, is captured to help train AI models on engineering problem-solving.
  • Write and execute Python validation scripts to support your design workflow.
  • Complete tasks across multiple complexity levels:
    • Simple: Approximately 4 hours
    • Moderate: Approximately 20–30 hours
    • Complex: Approximately 40–50 hours
