OMass Therapeutics is a biotechnology company based in Oxford discovering medicines against highly-validated target ecosystems, such as membrane proteins or intracellular complexes. The company's unique OdyssION™ technology platform comprises novel biochemistry techniques, next-generation native mass spectrometry, and custom chemistry. OMass is advancing a pipeline of small molecule therapeutics in rare diseases and immunological conditions, that target solute carriers, complex-bound proteins, and GPCRs. OMass' lead program is expected to enter clinical development in 2H 2026.
AI Transformation Lead
We are seeking an AI Transformation Lead. You will be part of a dynamic and innovative environment and will become an integral part of our vision to address patients' unmet needs while building Britain's Biggest Biotech. You will combine your fluency in artificial intelligence (AI) tools and emerging technologies with a robust understanding of the LifeSciences business — from discovery through to clinical development to accelerate how we work across the whole business. You will be able to work in modern facilities for optimum collaboration alongside a focused and caring team.
You will have a proven ability to drive change through technology, alongside the credibility and communication skills to bring colleagues with you on that journey.

Requirements
Essential Experience, Skills and Qualities
- A degree in a life sciences, chemistry, or related discipline; an advanced degree (MSc or PhD) is preferred but not required where experience is strong
- Interest in drug discovery and/or development — you understand how a biotech pipeline works, from target identification through IND-enabling studies to early clinical development
- Power user of AI tools: you have been using large language models (LLMs), AI-assisted research tools, and automation platforms since their earliest availability and you stay ahead of the curve. Hands-on experience with AI platforms relevant to biotech such as Claude, Copilot, or equivalent
- Able to evaluate AI tools critically and practically — including critical technical evaluation
- Experience using technology to drive change
- Commercially and operationally literate about might work in a resource-constrained environment
- Strong communicator who can bridge between IT, risk management and business enablement.
- Innovative and ambitious mindset, with an inquisitive and agile approach to problem-solving and overcoming technical challenges; motivated to continuously learn and take on challenges
- Responsible and focused approach to independent and collaborative work, with the ability to prioritise and deliver high quality work to deadlines.
- Caring and inclusive; respectful and receptive to others' diverse ideas, experience and perspectives, and enjoys working collaboratively with others as a team.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Preferred Experience And Skills
- Familiarity with AI use cases spanning multiple functions in a drug development company: computational chemistry and biology, regulatory strategy, clinical operations, finance, business development
- Experience setting up enterprise-level AI programmes or workflows in a small-to-mid size organisation
- Able to read, edit, and write basic scripts; comfortable with APIs
- Experience working with or alongside information technology (IT) teams to evaluate, procure, and integrate third-party tools
- Familiarity with data governance and AI governance principles as they apply to a regulated industry
- Change management experience
Role Responsibilities
- Set the agenda for the AI Committee which includes representations from IT and the business
- Partner with each business function — including discovery science, non-clinical development, clinical, finance, and business development — to identify high-value AI use cases specific to their work and support implementation
- Act as gatekeeper for new AI tool investments: evaluate tools against genuine business need, cost, security, and regulatory appropriateness before recommending adoption
- Work with IT to evolve and execute OMass's AI strategy, ensuring it is practical, scalable, and appropriate for a capital-efficient preclinical biotech
- Design and deliver training programmes and hands-on workshops to upskill employees across all functions and experience levels; including leading monthly drop-in sessions and other specific staff engagement activities
- Establish cross-functional AI enablement infrastructure: shared prompt libraries, standardised tool configurations, best practice repositories, and governance frameworks
- Monitor the external AI landscape — tools, regulatory guidance, industry precedent — and brief leadership on material developments
- Share information openly and work collaboratively with other departments to help advance different projects and achieve company goals
