BearingPoint is looking for an experienced AI Workplace Senior Engineer to help clients build and govern secure, AI-enabled Microsoft 365 collaboration environments. This is a client-facing consulting role focused on SharePoint Online, Microsoft 365 Copilot, Microsoft Purview, the Power Platform, and AI governance.
Role & Responsibilities
AI-Driven Collaboration & Automation
- Architect and deploy Microsoft 365 collaboration solutions, integrating Copilot and AI agents for enhanced productivity and knowledge management.
- Lead migration projects from legacy platforms to Microsoft 365 and SharePoint Online, ensuring seamless adoption of AI-powered workflows and automation (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI).
- Design and implement advanced SharePoint Online sites, custom solutions, and scoped agents that serve as subject matter experts for organizational knowledge.
Security, Compliance & Governance
- Configure and maintain Microsoft Purview for data protection, risk management, and compliance across Microsoft 365 services.
- Implement governance strategies for SharePoint Online, including retention policies, sensitivity labels, and external sharing controls.
- Advise on and deploy AI governance policies, including Copilot licensing, user access controls, and responsible AI usage.
Technical Leadership & Client Engagement
- Provide technical ownership of project success, ensuring team members understand risks, impacts, and interdependencies of project delivery tasks.
- Collaborate with IT, security, and business stakeholders to align solutions with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
- Deliver workshops, training, and ongoing support to drive user adoption of AI and collaboration tools.

Continuous Improvement
- Stay current with the latest Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and AI developments, best practices, and emerging technologies.
- Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and solution development for future client engagements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, or related field.
- 8+ years in SharePoint development, Power Platform, and Microsoft 365 security/compliance.
- Proven expertise in deploying and governing Purview, SharePoint Online, Power Platform, Power BI Desktop, Defender for O365 and Cloud App Security.
- Deep technical knowledge of Microsoft 365; SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, Exchange Online, Entra ID (Azure AD) and Microsoft Active Directory.
- Experience with cross-tenant migration, automation and multi-tenant environments.
- Proven expertise in Languages; PowerShell, PnP, Python (for AI scripting), JavaScript, C#, JSON, Power Query (DAX), and experience with REST APIs and GraphQL for integrating AI services. Databases; Microsoft Dataverse, Microsoft SQL, MySQL, and experience with AI-driven data analytics.
- Strong understanding of AI governance, compliance, and responsible AI practices.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and client engagement skills.
Preferred Skills
- Advanced expertise in Microsoft Copilot, Power Platform, and SharePoint Online agent development using Copilot Studio, Azure DevOps, and AI/ML frameworks integrated with Microsoft 365.
- Familiarity with AI-driven collaboration and governance strategies.
- Microsoft certifications (MS-900, MS-700, MS-100, AI-102) are a plus.
