BearingPoint is looking for an experienced AI Workplace Solution Architect (M365 and AI) to own the end-to-end design of secure, AI-enabled Microsoft 365 environments for our clients. This is a senior client-facing consulting role focused on solution architecture, Microsoft 365 Copilot and agent platforms, data and security architecture, and technical assurance across multi-workload transformation projects.
Role & Responsibilities
Architecture & Solution Design
- Own the end-to-end architecture for Microsoft 365 and AI workplace projects, covering SharePoint Online, Teams, Exchange Online, OneDrive, Entra ID, and the Power Platform.
- Define target-state designs, reference architectures, and migration roadmaps that move clients from legacy platforms onto Microsoft 365 with an AI-ready information architecture.
- Design Copilot and agent solutions, including grounding data strategy, retrieval patterns, Copilot Studio agents, and integration with line-of-business systems through Microsoft Graph, REST APIs, and GraphQL.
Security, Compliance & AI Governance
- Architect data protection and compliance across Microsoft Purview, including sensitivity labels, DLP, retention, records management, insider risk, and audit.
- Define AI governance frameworks covering Copilot licensing, access control, oversharing remediation, and responsible AI usage.
- Set architectural standards for identity, conditional access, tenant configuration, and cross-tenant or multi-tenant operating models.
Technical Assurance & Delivery Leadership
- Act as design authority across delivery teams, reviewing solutions for security, scalability, performance, and cost.
- Own technical risk, dependency, and interdependency management across workstreams, and escalate clearly to project leadership.
- Mentor engineers and consultants, and set development, deployment, and documentation standards using Azure DevOps.

Client Engagement & Advisory
- Lead architecture workshops, design authority boards, and executive briefings, translating technical decisions into business outcomes.
- Support pre-sales by shaping solution approaches, effort estimates, and technical responses to client requirements.
- Contribute to internal reference architectures and reusable assets for future client engagements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, or related field.
- 10+ years in Microsoft 365 and collaboration platform delivery, including at least 3 years in a solution architecture or design authority role.
- Proven track record architecting SharePoint Online, Teams, Exchange Online, OneDrive, Entra ID (Azure AD) and Microsoft Active Directory at enterprise scale.
- Deep expertise in Microsoft Purview, Defender for Office 365, and Defender for Cloud Apps, and in Microsoft 365 security and compliance controls.
- Hands-on architectural experience with Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI Desktop) and Microsoft Dataverse.
- Proven expertise in Languages; PowerShell, PnP, Python (for AI scripting), JavaScript, C#, JSON, Power Query (DAX), and experience with REST APIs and GraphQL for integrating AI services. Databases; Microsoft Dataverse, Microsoft SQL, MySQL, and experience with AI-driven data analytics.
- Experience designing cross-tenant migration, automation, and multi-tenant environments.
- Strong understanding of AI governance, compliance, and responsible AI practices.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and client engagement skills.
Preferred Skills
- Advanced expertise in Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio agent development, and Azure AI services integrated with Microsoft 365.
- Experience producing reference architectures, design authority artefacts, and technical assurance documentation in a consulting environment.
- Familiarity with Azure landing zones, infrastructure as code, and CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps.
- Microsoft certifications (MS-900, MS-700, MS-102, SC-100, AZ-305, AI-102) are a plus.
