Company Description
RM Funds is an alternative asset management firm specializing in private and public credit, infrastructure, and real estate investments.
Alongside our core investment management business, we operate a growing Regulatory Services division, offering AIFM services and Appointed Representative (AR) hosting to third-party investment managers. This division is a strategic growth area for the firm, and we are hiring to accelerate its expansion.
Role Description
This is a newly created role within our Regulatory Services offering, with scope for the successful candidate to shape it and build out the desk over time. The primary objective for a successful candidate would be to win new AIFM and AR-hosting mandates, while supporting the servicing of our existing hosted clients. The right candidate will bring an established network of contacts and client relationships across investment managers, fund promoters, and other potential introducers, and will be comfortable representing the firm commercially, pitching the service, and converting relationships into new business. Alongside that commercial ability, they will need a working knowledge of the AIFMD and the Appointed Representatives regime - enough regulatory fluency to be technically credible in front of a prospective client, and to know when to draw on our retained compliance consultants.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Candidate Profile
- Demonstrable experience within an FCA-regulated AIFM, regulatory host, or fund services business. Preference will be for a candidate with a client-facing or business-development experience.
- A working knowledge of AIFMD and the Appointed Representatives regime - sufficient to explain the hosting model credibly to a prospective manager, scope a mandate, and recognize where specialist compliance input is needed. Deep technical compliance expertise is not required.
- Existing relationships or a network within the investment-management, AIFM, or fund-services community is highly desirable, and candidates who can bring or influence client relationships will be prioritized.
- Comfortable operating independently rather than managing a large compliance team.
- Ambition to grow the business and the team within the regulatory services division over time is a strong positive.
