Qualified Air Conditioning Engineer (VRV/VRF)

Basingstoke | Up to £47,000 per annum, DOE | Company van and fuel card | Door-to-door pay on out of hours call-outs

The opportunity

Our client is a well-established facilities management provider, delivering maintenance services to a broad base of commercial clients. They're looking to add a qualified air conditioning engineer to their field team, covering a patch within around 20 miles of Basingstoke.

This is a hands-on, largely autonomous role covering both planned and reactive maintenance on commercial air conditioning systems, including complex VRV and VRF equipment. You'll be trusted to manage your own diary and work independently on site, with an established team behind you when you need it.

What you'll be doing

  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs on commercial air conditioning systems, including VRV/VRF
  • Diagnosing and resolving faults independently on site
  • Managing your own workload across a patch within roughly 20 miles of Basingstoke
  • Taking your turn on an existing on-call rota, one week in six, including out of hours breakdown calls
  • Keeping accurate records of work carried out and liaising professionally with site contacts

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
