We are currently recruiting for an experienced Qualified Air Conditioning Engineer to join an established and growing business, covering commercial sites across Basingstoke and the surrounding areas.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer looking for a long-term, permanent position with a strong package and additional earning potential through the on-call rota.

Air Conditioning Engineer Role Description

You will be field-based, working predominantly within a 20-mile radius of Basingstoke, carrying out a mixture of planned and reactive maintenance across commercial air conditioning systems.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Planned preventative maintenance and servicing
  • Reactive maintenance and fault finding
  • Working on commercial air conditioning systems
  • Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs
  • Working on complex VRV/VRF systems
  • Responding to out-of-hours breakdowns as part of a 1-in-6 on-call rota
  • Maintaining excellent customer relationships and communication
  • Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard

The Package

  • Up to £47,000 per annum, depending on experience
  • Full-time, permanent employment
  • Minimum 40-hour working week
  • 1 week in 6 on-call rota
  • Out-of-hours breakdowns paid at a minimum of 4 hours
  • Overtime paid at 1.5x, 2x or 2.5x, depending on the circumstances
  • Door-to-door travel paid for out-of-hours call-outs
  • Predominantly local work within approximately 20 miles of Basingstoke
  • Long-term opportunity with an established employer

About You

The successful candidate will:

  • Live locally to Basingstoke
  • Have a minimum of 2 years' field experience working independently on commercial air conditioning equipment
  • Have strong experience with VRV/VRF systems
  • Hold current F-Gas Certification
  • Hold a minimum Level 2 NVQ Diploma (City & Guilds 6187) or equivalent
  • Hold a full, clean UK driving licence
  • Have strong commercial awareness
  • Have a robust work ethic and excellent communication skills
  • PASMA and IPAF certification is preferred, although not essential
