The company provides bespoke services across gas, water, air conditioning, oil, LPG, and electrical systems to clients within a 30-mile radius, including Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire, and Buckinghamshire. With a dedicated fleet of service vehicles, the team focuses on delivering reliable, high-standard work tailored to each client’s requirements. Services range from commercial and domestic plumbing and gas, plant room upgrades, and boiler repairs to central heating power flushing, LPG and oil installations, and public and disabled access toilet facilities. The company’s philosophy emphasizes strong motivation, quality workmanship, and long-term client relationships.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm
Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum, depending on experience

The Opportunity
Plumbing & Gas Solutions Limited is looking for an experienced and ambitious Air Conditioning Engineer to join our growing team. This is more than a standard engineering position. We are looking for someone who can initially deliver high-quality air conditioning installations, servicing, maintenance and repairs, while also helping us build and develop our in-house air conditioning department.
As the department continues to grow across both the domestic and commercial sectors, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to take a leading role, support the recruitment and development of additional engineers, and help shape how the division operates.

The role will be based from Milton Keynes, with work primarily covering the three counties of Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out domestic and commercial air conditioning installations.
- Complete servicing, planned maintenance, fault finding and repairs.
- Diagnose technical issues and provide effective, professional solutions.
- Deliver consistently high standards of workmanship and customer service.
- Support the surveying, planning and delivery of air conditioning projects.
- Help develop systems, processes and working standards for the department.
- Assist with building and mentoring a team of in-house air conditioning engineers.
- Work closely with the management and project teams to support the continued growth of the division.
- Maintain accurate job records and ensure all work complies with relevant regulations and company procedures.
- Represent Plumbing & Gas Solutions Limited professionally when attending customer premises.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
- Has proven experience working as an air conditioning engineer.
- Is confident working on both domestic and commercial systems.
- Has strong fault-finding, installation, servicing and maintenance skills.
- Holds a current F-Gas qualification.
- Takes pride in delivering high-quality work.
- Is organised, reliable and able to manage their workload effectively.
- Communicates professionally with customers, colleagues and contractors.
- Has the ambition and leadership qualities required to help build and lead a growing department.
- Holds a full UK driving licence.

Relevant manufacturer training, additional refrigeration qualifications and experience supervising or mentoring other engineers would be advantageous.
Training and Career Development
We are committed to developing the right person for the long term. Alongside progressing into a leadership role within our growing air conditioning department, we would also consider providing training in areas such as:
- Commercial plumbing
- Commercial heating
- Commercial gas
This additional training is optional but could provide the successful candidate with a broader skill set and further career opportunities within the business.
