CMS also offers fire alarm systems, EV charge point services, legionella assessments, building management systems, and groundworks. Serving sectors such as care, retail, hospitality, education, local authorities, and defense, CMS combines national coverage with tailored, expert service for both full facilities contracts and individual commercial sites.

Role Description

This is a full-time remote role for an Air Conditioning Engineer. The Air Conditioning Engineer will carry out the installation, commissioning, servicing, and repair of commercial air conditioning and HVAC systems at client sites, following company and regulatory standards.

  • Performing planned preventative maintenance
  • Responding to reactive call-outs
  • Ensuring systems operate safely and efficiently

The role involves:

  • Preparing job reports
  • Maintaining accurate service records
  • Coordinating with the scheduling and facilities management teams
  • Communicating clearly with clients about work carried out and recommendations

The engineer will also:

  • Follow health and safety procedures
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Contribute to high-quality customer service across CMS’s national portfolio

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong skills in Building Maintenance and Building Services, with experience working on commercial properties.
  • Candidates should possess skills in Facility Management (FM), including coordinating works, understanding service-level requirements, and working within compliance frameworks.
  • Candidates should possess skills in Maintenance & Repair, with the ability to diagnose faults, perform planned and reactive works, and use appropriate tools and test equipment.
  • Candidates should possess skills in HVAC, including installation, servicing, and repair of air conditioning and related mechanical systems.
  • Relevant technical qualifications (e.g., NVQ or City & Guilds in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning or HVAC, F-Gas certification) are highly beneficial.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations, risk assessments, and safe working practices in a commercial environment is required.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, clear written and verbal communication skills, and a customer-focused approach are essential.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote, field-based capacity, manage time effectively, and travel to client sites as needed.
