Role Description

This is a contract, on-site Air Conditioning Engineer role based in Glasgow. The Air Conditioning Engineer will carry out planned and reactive maintenance, repair, and servicing of HVAC and air conditioning systems within commercial and/or industrial buildings.

Daily Tasks

  • Diagnosing faults
  • Performing routine inspections
  • Completing minor installations or component replacements
  • Ensuring systems operate efficiently and safely

  • Coordinating with facilities and building services teams
  • Maintaining accurate service records
  • Adhering to all relevant health and safety standards

The engineer will be expected to:

  • Respond to client requests promptly
  • Support continuous improvement of building performance
  • Uphold Ron Services Group’s quality and customer service expectations

Qualifications

  • Skills: Candidates should possess skills in Building Maintenance and Maintenance & Repair to manage day-to-day upkeep and troubleshooting of air conditioning equipment.
  • Skills: Candidates should possess skills in Building Services and Facility Management (FM) to work effectively within broader facilities operations and service delivery frameworks.
  • Skills: Candidates should possess strong HVAC skills to service, maintain, and repair air conditioning and ventilation systems in accordance with industry standards.
  • Qualifications: Relevant technical qualification or apprenticeship in HVAC, Refrigeration, or Mechanical Engineering (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent) is preferred.
  • Experience: Experience working in commercial or industrial building environments, with knowledge of health and safety regulations and safe working practices.
  • Abilities: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and service manuals, with strong problem-solving and diagnostic abilities.
  • Skills: Good communication skills, reliability, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a facilities team.
  • Requirements: Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel between sites in Glasgow and surrounding areas, if required.
