Air Conditioning Service & Breakdown Engineer
£45,000.00–£50,000.00 per year DOE
High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire | Full-time | Paid door-to-door travel
SFE Services Ltd is an established, family-run air conditioning and mechanical ventilation specialist based in High Wycombe. We’re looking for an experienced Service & Breakdown Engineer to join our team, looking after a varied portfolio of commercial and residential clients.

The role:
Your main focus will be servicing, planned preventative maintenance, fault finding, and repairs across split, multi-split, and VRF/VRV air conditioning systems, alongside ventilation and associated equipment.
You will:
- Diagnose faults and carry out repairs safely and effectively.
- Complete thorough maintenance visits, including operational checks and recording findings.
- Provide clear service reports and recommendations for remedial works.
- Communicate professionally with clients, suppliers, and the office team.
- Work independently, with technical support available when needed.
- Support junior engineers and apprentices where required.
Installation experience would be useful, but this is primarily a service and breakdown role.
What we’re looking for:
- A relevant NVQ Level 2 qualification or above in air conditioning and refrigeration.
- Current F-Gas certification.
- Proven experience in air conditioning service, maintenance, and fault finding.
- Strong diagnostic skills and the ability to manage service and breakdown visits independently.
- A reliable, organised approach, with accurate and timely paperwork.
- Good client communication skills.
- A full UK driving licence.
- A home location within a practical travelling distance of High Wycombe.
- The right to work in the UK.
- CSCS, IPAF, and PASMA qualifications are advantageous.

Working area:
Our work is predominantly across Buckinghamshire, London, and the Southeast, with occasional nationwide projects, overnight stays, and weekend work. Willingness to cover these areas is essential, and we’ll discuss the travel requirements openly during the initial conversation.
