We are actively looking to engage shipping, freight, and road transport professionals with a passion for air freight forwarding for a new role as an Air Freight Forwarder (Nights) on a night shift in Leicestershire. The role is scheduled across Sunday to Thursday (22:00-06:00).
Client Details
My client is a market-leader in the freight & shipping industry and has offices based across the world (in the UK, US, Iberia, Germany, and the Far-East). You will be joining a fast-paced environment assisting in finding logistics solutions for some of the world's largest industrial, AOG, automotive retail & FMCG based customers. My client focuses on searching air freight, sea freight & road freight solutions, which are both cost effective & time sensitive.
Job Description
As an Air Freight Forwarder (Nights) you will report in to the Air Freight Operations Manager on a daily basis. You will be responsible for the following areas of responsibility across the Leicestershire office:

- Manage air & road freight import and export bookings including pricing, quotations, end-to-end shipping and customs documentations - additionally informing about the freight prices, port charges, cost of special documents, insurance prices as well as prices for handling the goods.
- Responsible for MAWB and HAWB documentation.
- Nominating carriers, hauliers, shipping lines, airlines, and GSA in-line with rates, OTIF value, and customer requirements in line with a variety of INCOTerms.
- Handling customs entries and arranging billings for VAT/Duties.
- Raise additional customs documentation to ensure the freight can move from country to country (ISF, COO, clearance documentation, etc).
- Customer rate analysis on route guidance, whilst monitoring and secure allocations and operation efficiency.
- Develop and build relationships to ensure a high level of customer service is provided to clients with a knowledge of the clients' business requirements.

You will operate across Sunday to Thursday (22:00-06:00) on a night shift pattern.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will have an expansive background in the air freight forwarding industry. The ideal Air Freight Forwarder (Nights) will have the following skills and experience:
- 3+ year's experience in freight forwarding in air freight.
- Experience of pricing, quoting, and operating air freight shipments.
- Knowledge of airway bills is highly desirable (AWB / MAWB / HAWB).
- Excellent customer service experience.
- Commutable to Leicestershire.
- The ability to operate across Sunday to Thursday (22:00-06:00).
