Air Source Heat Pump Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Air Source Heat Pump Engineer to join our growing team. This is a permanent, onsite position offering a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the renewable energy sector and advance your career. Key Responsibilities

  • Install, commission, and service Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) systems according to manufacturer guidelines and industry best practices.
  • Perform diagnostic checks and fault finding on existing ASHP systems, identifying and rectifying issues efficiently.
  • Conduct essential plumbing and electrical connections for ASHP installations, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Carry out pressure testing, brazing, and soldering to ensure the integrity and performance of refrigeration circuits.
  • Maintain accurate records of installations, servicing, and repairs, including site visit reports and parts used.
  • Provide excellent customer service and technical advice to clients, explaining system operation and maintenance requirements.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and other departments to ensure project success and client satisfaction.

Required Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) industry, with a specific focus on heat pump technologies.
  • A recognized qualification such as a Diploma in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) or a Diploma in Heating and Ventilation.
  • Essential certifications including:
    • Gases Safety Register (GSR) certification
    • F-Gas certification
    • MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) accreditation
    • NVQ Level 2/3 in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning
    • BPEC Unvented Hot Water Systems certification
  • Proficiency in heat pump installation, refrigeration systems, electrical wiring, and plumbing installation.
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Experience using a variety of measurement tools, hand tools, and power tools relevant to the trade.
  • Competency in operating a multimeter and manifold gauges.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following would be advantageous:

  • Additional certifications or training in related renewable energy technologies.
  • Experience with a wider range of HVAC systems beyond heat pumps.
  • Familiarity with different manufacturers' heat pump products.
