Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Particularly Relevant Background

Experience within private banking, wealth management, retail banking or mortgage lending would be highly relevant, particularly for individuals who have worked with mortgage / secured lending portfolios and credit risk models. Will also consider Wholesale Banking background.

For the more senior positions, we are particularly interested in candidates who have previously owned AIRB/IRB workstreams or delivered major credit risk transformation programmes, with the ability to operate between business, risk, data and technology teams.

Senior Workstream Leads

The Workstream Lead positions will suit individuals who can take ownership of significant areas of an AIRB / IRB programme, managing delivery across multiple stakeholders and ensuring that technical, regulatory and business requirements are translated into an executable programme of work.

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience leading areas such as:

  • Basel / Regulatory Capital
  • AIRB / IRB implementation
  • Credit Risk Data
  • Credit Risk Models
  • Model Governance
  • Data Architecture / Data Transformation
  • Credit Risk Technology
  • Mortgage / Secured Lending Credit Risk

AVP Business Analyst / Architect

The AVP-level opportunity will suit an experienced Business Analyst, Solution Architect or Business Architect with deep Credit Risk and AIRB/IRB knowledge.

You will need to be comfortable operating at both a strategic and technical level, translating complex credit risk and regulatory requirements into target operating models, processes, data requirements and technology solutions.

This is not a generic BA or architecture position, deep Credit Risk and AIRB/IRB knowledge is essential.

Who Should Apply?

We would be particularly interested in speaking with professionals coming from:

  • Major UK / international banks
  • Private banks
  • Retail / mortgage banks
  • Investment banks
  • Risk consultancies
  • Big Four / professional services firms
  • Credit risk transformation programmes
  • Regulatory capital / Basel programmes
  • IRB / AIRB model development or implementation environments

Candidates must be able to demonstrate hands-on experience of AIRB/IRB or significant technical Credit Risk modelling / regulatory capital exposure.

If your background is primarily generic Business Analysis, Project Management or Data Analysis without meaningful Credit Risk / IRB exposure, these opportunities are unlikely to be suitable.

Interested?

We are managing these opportunities on a discreet basis on behalf of a leading international financial institution.

If you have strong AIRB / IRB, Credit Risk, Basel, Model, Data or Credit Risk Transformation experience and would be interested in discussing the programme, please get in touch for further details.

To avoid disappointment please only apply if you have relevant background and have the right to work in the UK.
