Aircraft Engineering Supervisor (Mechanical) (Merlin) – RNAS Culdrose, Cornwall

Location: TR12 7RH, RNAS Culdrose, Helston, Cornwall Hours: 38 hours per week, Monday–Friday Type: Competitive salary + excellent benefits


About the Role

Do you have hands-on aircraft engineering experience? Are you looking to develop your career in aviation while supporting the Royal Navy? This is your chance to bring your expertise to life at RNAS Culdrose, one of the UK’s busiest military airfields.

As an Aircraft Engineering Supervisor (Mechanical), you’ll be critical to the IMOS (Integrated Merlin Operational Support) and AESAS (Aircraft Engineering & Airfield Support) contracts. Your role involves delivering high-quality engineering support—covering both on and off-aircraft maintenance to keep Merlin helicopters flight-ready.


What You’ll Do

  • Oversee client teams ensuring technical excellence and adherence to safety procedures
  • Ensure the correct use of tools, equipment, and procedures during aircraft servicing
  • Troubleshoot and resolve challenges to maintain mission readiness
  • Foster a culture of precision, collaboration, and safety—where every detail counts

Requirements

You’ll need:

  • Minimum of 6 years in an airworthiness environment, preferably with Merlin helicopter experience
  • At least 2 years of hands-on engineering experience
  • Knowledge of:
    • Merlin aircraft systems, servicing, and support equipment
    • Lean Operating Procedures
    • Naval Air Publications and CIETP (Compound Interactive Electronic Technical Publications)
    • Health & safety (including COSHH and tool/quality controls)
    • Engineering/asset management systems

Ideal (but we’ll support) brands you:

  • A Maintenance Human Factors course completion
  • A Certificate of Competency at Supervisory level
