Aircraft Engineering Supervisor (Wildcat) (Mechanical and Avionics)
Location: RNAS Yeovilton, Ilchester, Somerset BA22 8HT Salary: Competitive salary plus benefits Posting: Monday–Friday Contract Options: 40 or 45 hours per week, plus option for paid shift work

At Serco, we’re proud to deliver aviation support services at RNAS Yeovilton in support of the Fleet Air Arm and Wildcat Maritime Force. From front-line aircraft maintenance to off-aircraft support and fuel delivery, our team plays a vital role in keeping Wildcat helicopters mission-ready.
As an Aircraft Engineering Supervisor, you’ll deliver high-quality engineering support and ground services for the Wildcat platform. Responsibilities include:
- Day-to-day aircraft management and operational oversight
- Ground support services
- Quality assurance and compliance with regulatory requirements
- Administrative responsibilities
- Safety and adherence to procedures

Transitioning from the military or bringing expertise from rotary-wing aviation, this role allows you to apply your skills where they matter most—supporting the Royal Navy at one of the UK’s busiest military airfields.
Responsibilities
- Lead engineering and ground support activities for Wildcat helicopters
- Ensure contracted tasks align with regulatory and customer requirements
- Manage staff, oversee day-to-day operations, and monitor compliance
- Coordinate and prioritise tasks under pressure to meet operational deadlines
- Deliver technical expertise and mentorship to ensure quality and safety

Requirements
Aircraft Experience & Certification
- Minimum 6 years working in an airworthiness environment, including:
- At least 2 years of hands-on aircraft maintenance experience
- Formal training on Wildcat aircraft and associated systems
- Hold, or be eligible to hold:
- A Certificate of Competency at Supervisory Level
Technical Knowledge
- Strong expertise in Wildcat aircraft engineering, systems, servicing procedures, and support equipment
- Proficiency with Naval Air Publications and CIETP (Compound Interactive Electronic Technical Publications)
Safety, Quality & Compliance
- Commitment to Health and Safety, including:
- COSHH awareness
- Tool and equipment control
- Quality assurance practices
- Understanding of airworthiness engineering safety and compliance, aligned with MAA regulatory and legislative standards
Maintenance & Systems
- Familiarity with engineering and asset management systems
- Experience with Maintenance Human Factors training (or willingness to complete)
- Awareness of Lean Operating Procedures
Soft Skills & Operational Context
- Excellent teamwork and adaptability
- Initiative and drive to meet tight deadlines in a military aviation environment
- Ability to work under pressure in a highly regulated, mission-critical setting
- Must obtain or be eligible for an SC (Security Check) clearance
