Aircraft Fitters (Skilled & Semi-Skilled)
Location: Filton, Bristol
Rates:
- Skilled: £28.87/hr Umbrella (£21.58/hr PAYE)
- Semi-Skilled: £25.62/hr Umbrella (£19.14/hr PAYE)
Duration: 12-Month Contract (Likely Extension and Potential Permanent Opportunity)
Hours: Monday to Thursday, 6:30am to 3:45pm
Clearance: BPSS Clearance Required
Start Date: 26th October 2026
About the Role
Our Aerospace client is seeking both Skilled and Semi-Skilled Aircraft Fitters to join their Build Production team at their Filton site. This is an excellent opportunity to work on the assembly of military aircraft structures within a world-class aerospace manufacturing environment. Candidates will be involved in the assembly and fitting of aircraft components while working to strict engineering and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Working from engineering instructions and aircraft drawings.
- Performing fitting and assembly activities to required production standards.
- Using hand and power tools for drilling, shimming, sealing and general aircraft assembly.
- Supporting aircraft build programmes within a production environment.
- Completing mandatory training and achieving internal certification where required.
- Working safely in confined spaces and at height when necessary.
- Maintaining high standards of quality, safety and housekeeping.
What We're Looking For
Semi-Skilled Aircraft Fitters
- Experience using hand and power tools.
- Previous experience in a fitting, assembly, manufacturing or production role.
- Ability to interpret basic engineering instructions and drawings.
- Strong work ethic and commitment to quality and safety.
- Comfortable working at height and within confined spaces.

Skilled Aircraft Fitters
- Completed aerospace or engineering apprenticeship.
- NVQ Level 2 & 3 or equivalent engineering qualification.
- Time-served apprenticeship or recognised engineering training programme.
- Experience within aerospace, aviation or a comparable engineering environment.
- Copies of relevant qualifications must be provided with application.
