Aircraft Maintenance Planning Specialist – 12 Month FTC

Location: North East UK

Contract: 12-Month Fixed Term Contract

Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week

Sector: Aviation / Aerospace / Defence

We’re supporting a specialist aviation organisation looking to appoint an experienced Aircraft Maintenance Planning Specialist to join its engineering operation in Teesside.

This is a hands-on planning role supporting a significant aircraft base maintenance programme, ensuring maintenance activity is properly planned, resourced and sequenced to meet aircraft delivery and operational availability requirements.

You’ll sit at the centre of the maintenance operation, working across Engineering, CAMO, Procurement and Stores to turn approved maintenance requirements into practical, executable plans.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for building and maintaining detailed maintenance plans, ensuring the people, parts, tooling and resources required to complete aircraft maintenance are available at the right time.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing detailed aircraft maintenance schedules against delivery milestones and operational priorities
  • Translating approved maintenance scopes into structured work packs, task sequences and executable plans
  • Planning labour, skills, tooling, materials and other resources required for maintenance activity
  • Working closely with Procurement and Stores to ensure parts and materials are available to schedule
  • Monitoring maintenance progress and identifying constraints, risks and critical-path issues
  • Developing recovery plans where delays, shortages or emerging maintenance requirements impact the programme
  • Working with CAMO / Maintenance Planning teams to ensure alignment with the approved Aircraft Maintenance Programme
  • Supporting aircraft throughput and availability across both base and operational maintenance activity
  • Maintaining accurate planning, configuration and maintenance records
  • Supporting continuous improvement across planning and maintenance processes
  • Ensuring planning activity remains compliant with relevant aviation regulations, including CAA Part 145 and associated organisational procedures

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
