About the Role
Willis Aviation Services Limited (WASL) is looking for an Avionics Mechanic to join our team at Teesside International Airport.
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out aircraft avionics maintenance, repair, modification, and troubleshooting activities, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements and company procedures.
The role also involves providing technical guidance and support to other avionics personnel, helping to maintain high standards of workmanship, safety, and regulatory compliance across our maintenance operations.
We are looking for an organized and technically capable individual with a recognized qualification in aircraft avionics and practical aircraft maintenance experience who can contribute positively to our team and wider maintenance operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out assigned aircraft avionics maintenance, repair, modification, and troubleshooting tasks, providing technical guidance and oversight to other Avionics Mechanics as required.
- Accurately complete and maintain aircraft maintenance records, including worksheets and task cards, ensuring all entries are complete, accurate, and compliant.
- Follow the procedures outlined in the Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE), approved maintenance data, and associated documentation.
- Comply with company health and safety policies, procedures, and Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) requirements.
- Promote safe systems of work and support a positive safety culture within the avionics team.
- Support the maintenance, organization, and cleanliness of the facility when not assigned to aircraft work, leading by example.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and ensure maintenance activities are completed to the required standards.

Qualifications and Requirements
- An aeronautical apprenticeship or recognized national qualification in aircraft avionics.
- A minimum of two years' aircraft maintenance experience.
- An organized and methodical approach to daily tasks, with the ability to prioritize work effectively.
- Demonstrable technical skills across relevant aircraft maintenance disciplines.
- Knowledge of aircraft maintenance standards and procedures.
- The ability to interpret and use aircraft maintenance data.
- Initial Human Factors (HF) training.
- Fuel Tank Safety (FTS) training.
- Electrical Wiring Interconnection System (EWIS) training.
- Good written and spoken English language skills.
