Associate Mechanical Operator - Ideal for RAF Leavers & Ex-Forces Personnel

Security Requirements:
Applicants must be eligible to live and work in the UK, meet ITAR requirements, and be capable of obtaining UK SC Clearance.

BAE Systems is seeking an Associate Mechanical Operator to support aircraft maintenance and remediation activities at RAF Marham. This role offers an excellent opportunity for former RAF personnel to apply their military aviation experience within a leading defence programme, working alongside skilled engineering teams in a familiar operational environment.
Whether your background is in aircraft structures, mechanical maintenance, engineering support, or flight-line operations, your understanding of airworthiness, safety, procedural compliance, and teamwork will be highly valued.

What You'll Be Doing
- Carry out aircraft structural repair, metalwork, and corrosion control activities.
- Prepare metallic and composite aircraft structures for maintenance and repair.
- Drill, ream, and fit aircraft panels and structural components.
- Apply approved adhesive bonding techniques.
- Remove and install aircraft fasteners and associated hardware.
- Follow approved aircraft maintenance data, technical publications, and work instructions.
- Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team to maintain operational and airworthiness standards.

- RAF veterans transitioning into civilian aerospace roles
- Service leavers with aircraft maintenance and engineering experience
- Personnel familiar with military aviation safety, quality, and regulatory requirements
Essential Skills & Experience
- Experience working on aircraft metallic and composite structures.
- Ability to interpret and follow technical publications and maintenance instructions.
- Competence in drilling, reaming, fitting, and fastener installation.
- Understanding of aircraft repair and bonding techniques.
- Strong awareness of Human Factors, Safety Management, and Error Reduction principles.
- Experience working within regulated maintenance environments and quality systems.
