Principal accountabilities:

• Work to operational logs, component maintenance manuals, component repair schemes and process specifications, and carry out maintenance and repairs.
• Liaise with Lead Technicians and Engineering to ensure most efficient and effective repair solutions.
• Support schedule of assigned work to ensure turn-around-time is achieved.
• Be accountable for completion of assigned work within the targeted time allocation on Final-Assembly Tracking System.
• Be accountable for quality and verification of task completion.
• Carry out activities in relation to fabrication processes as required, e.g., welding, panel beating, non-destructive testing and hot-bond repair.
• Be responsible for supporting and providing on-the-job training for fellow Technicians to meet ever-changing business requirements.
• Contribute to cost-reduction, schedule and quality improvement initiatives in relation to repairs process and assist others where required in completion of tasks to meet scheduled requirements.
• Effectively participate in performance optimisation processes for repairs business.
• Be responsible for accuracy of individual labour-hour bookings on Final-Assembly Tracking System, etc.
• Be responsible for supporting repair-shop activities on introduction of new processes, technologies and work practices.
• Support the operation in the design and manufacture of aids to production as required.
• Be responsible for general Health & Safety / housekeeping for local workstation.
• Be prepared to travel at short notice and work shifts and overtime as required.

Qualifications

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

• Apprenticeship in a relevant Mechanical discipline
• AND
• Must have a minimum of two years’ post-apprenticeship experience within an Aerospace environment.
• Strong communication and planning skills.
• The ability to work using continuous improvement principles, e.g., identification and coordination of resolutions to problems, working within a natural team environment and negotiating outcomes which reflect the interest of all parties.
• Successful candidates must be prepared to complete a 12-week development programme to acquire relevant skills in cost, quality and schedule.

Desirable
Experience working as an Aircraft Technician in an Aftermarket Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul environment.
