Aircraft Technician – Merlin Royal Navy Air Station (RNAS) Culdrose, Helston, Cornwall TR12 7RH

38 hours per week | Monday to Friday

About the Role

Whether transitioning from the military or bringing experience from the aviation industry, this opportunity allows you to apply your skills to a mission-critical role. At Serco, we provide aviation support services through IMOS (Integrated Merlin Operational Support) and AESAS (Aircraft Engineering and Airfield Support) contracts, ensuring Merlin helicopters remain operational for frontline operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Work as an Aircraft Engineering Fitter across IMOS and AESAS contracts, delivering hands-on aircraft maintenance and off-aircraft support.
  • Support operational objectives in a highly regulated environment, adhering to the highest standards of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
  • Identify and escalate risks, quality issues, or concerns to team leads.
  • Complete administrative tasks and participate in structured training to advance your professional development.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will have:

  • At least 3 years’ experience in an airworthiness environment, with proficiency in Merlin or rotary-wing aircraft.
  • Hands-on experience working with Merlin aircraft systems and support equipment.
  • A working knowledge of:
    • Lean Operating Procedures
    • Naval Air Publications
    • Compound Interactive Electronic Technical Publications (CIETP)
  • Familiarity with engineering and asset management systems.
  • Compliance with:
    • Safety protocols, including COSHH regulations.
    • Tool control and quality practices.
  • Completion of a Maintenance Human Factors course.
