About the Company

North Air is responsible for providing into-plane services on behalf of major oil companies. We operate at 19 locations across the UK, where we carry out approximately 300,000 fuelling’s per year. We aim to provide safe, reliable, and efficient into-plane services to our customers' satisfaction.

This role is currently working on a 3 on 2 days off basis but could change for Operational needs of the business.

The starting salary is £38,884.95 increasing to £45,747 on successful completion of training. An annual shift allowance of £4,372.20 is also paid in 12 monthly instalments.

Job Purpose

The role of Refuelling Operator is to meet customer requests to fuel aircraft in a safe and timely manner; ensuring that task breakdowns are followed, and paperwork is completed.

Key areas of Responsibility

Operations:

The Operator is responsible for carrying out the day to day operational tasks safely, effectively, and efficiently. Depending on the location, the Operator may be ultimately responsible for loading refuelling vehicles and refuelling aircraft.

The Operator is responsible to perform all tasks in accordance with the site Operating Standards, Safety Management System (SMS), & JIG. The Operator will operate sophisticated, high cost mobile and fixed equipment in carrying out these tasks.

To undertake this role, the operator will be required to obtain and retain an Airside Driving Permit.

At a typical airport, these basic operating tasks are, but not limited to:

  • Preventative Maintenance
  • Fuelling vehicle loading
  • Driving
  • Product Quality
  • Aircraft refuelling

Health and Safety:

The Operator must be HSSE-minded and work safely at all times.

The Operator works within a team, and therefore, their actions and behaviors will impact on others.

The Operator must be fully conversant and comply with all Company and Legislated HSE requirements which apply to the Airfield Operation.

The Operator must strictly adhere to the North Air Rules for Operators and Safety Management System (SMS).

The Operator must report all unsafe acts and conditions and safety incidents to their Manager at all times.

The operator must conduct tasks as per how they have been trained.

The Operator must acknowledge that Working Safely is a condition of Employment.

Product Quality

The Operator is required to perform tasks critical to the Quality Assurance System and as such they shall be fully trained in such tasks and nominated as an approved Product Quality Inspector. Such Critical Tasks include, but may not be limited to, the following:

  • Checking the documentation on incoming consignments is correct and that it corresponds to the transport/container concerned.
  • Visual inspection and control checks on incoming material, including the checking of seals on vehicles if present.
  • Discharge into storage.
  • Release of product into refuelling vehicles.
  • Sampling of aviation products.
  • Maintaining records of stock/quality/equipment checks as appropriate.

Fixed and Mobile Plant Maintenance

At the direction of the Depot Manager or the Duty Supervisor, the Operator will carry out such tasks as are necessary in the day to day running of the facility. These include but are not limited to:

  • Equipment maintenance.
  • Miscellaneous tasks within the Depot.
  • Cleaning of fixed and mobile equipment.
  • General housekeeping tasks.

This list may not be exhaustive, and post holders may be expected to carry out other activities as identified by the company.
