Position Summary

Euravia Engineering & Supply Co Ltd, a part of Magellan Aerospace Kelbrook, Lancashire has an exciting opportunity for Airmotive Team Leader (Internal Only).

Full-time-permanent position

Weekdays are Monday-Friday 37.5 hours per week. Job location: Colne Road, Kelbrook, Lancashire BB18 6SN

To be the main point of contact for the Airmotive department and responsible for leading the day-to-day activities. The role will ensure a safe working environment both for product and people as well as setting and achieving targets, driving continuous improvement and ensuring right first time.

The team leader will have extensive knowledge and relevant experience in the disassembly of PT6 engines, cleaning the related components in line with Pratt & Whitney Canada manuals, and in accordance with Euravia’s Quality Systems and be competent to train and develop the team or coordinate training accordingly.

Essential Responsibilities

  • To be competent in all aspects of engine disassembly
  • Initial engine inspection including completion of relevant paperwork and video summary
  • Engine disassembly in accordance Pratt & Whitney Canada & Standard Practices manuals, using controlled tooling
  • To be competent in all aspects of components clean;
  • Component clean in accordance with Pratt & Whitney Canada & Standard Practices manuals
  • Component blasting in accordance with Pratt & Whitney Canada & Standard Practices manuals
  • Daily and weekly checks to ensure compliance to required standards
  • Maintain a clean and ordered working environment
  • Manage the team day to day to ensure priorities are aligned with the business needs, performance levels are maintained and objectives delivered
  • Train new members of staff and ensure competence assessments are completed in a timely manner
  • Oversee the completion of required activities within the team
  • Continuously review and ensure that the processes used within the department are compliant with regulatory standards
  • Lead efforts to streamline project workflows and decrease overall booked hours
  • Develop and implement / lead CI projects to increase utilisation and remove waste with the support of the compliance/engineering team
  • Communicate effectively across the site ensuring that where required, the correct escalation process is adopted
  • Maintaining a cost-conscious focus with regards to hours booked, consumables and waste
  • Liaison with the various department heads to ensure that the needs of the business are met
  • Ensure compliance with Euravia’s Quality Systems
  • Maintain the highest 6S standard
  • Ensure compliance with H & S requirements and liaise with H&S manager as necessary
  • Completion of any other tasks as designated by your Line Manager

Position Requirements

Essential Criteria:

  • Good level of education
  • A mechanical background with experience in aviation preferred
  • Detailed of tooling and equipment

Desirable Criteria:

  • Supervisory experience
  • Understand and interpret technical drawings and service bulletin requirements
  • Extensive knowledge of aircraft engines, specification and standards
