Optime Recruitment experts are excited to be recruiting for Hangar Cleaners to join one of our well-respected and successful clients at Gatwick Airport. This job offers full-time hours, overtime opportunities and an immediate start. This is a very enjoyable role with a great company providing fantastic working conditions and facilities.
What’s on offer:
- Rate of Pay: £13.50 per hour
- Day Shifts available: 07:00 am to 17:00 pm - This may be subject to change, due to operational requirements
- Shift Pattern: Monday to Thursday - This may be subject to change, due to operational requirements
- Weekly Pay: every Friday
- Full training provided
- Temp to Perm: (performance-based)
- ASAP Start!
Key Duties:
- Support the Team Lead with daily hangar projects and tasks
- Carry out interior and exterior cleaning on British Airways (BA) aircraft
- Complete all levels of aircraft cleaning, including toilets, deep cleans, passenger seats, floors, overhead areas and kitchen galleys
- Clean and sanitise aircraft areas thoroughly to the required hygiene and customer standards
- Be comfortable working at height on and around aircraft, using the correct safety equipment
- Follow daily work schedules and instructions from the Team Lead
- This is a very physical role, involving bending, reaching, climbing, lifting and being on your feet for long periods. You must be physically fit and comfortable carrying out manual work throughout your shift
- Be a team player with a positive attitude and willingness to support colleagues to get the job done
- Follow all Health & Safety, Working at Height and aviation safety procedures
- Use cleaning equipment, tools and chemicals safely and correctly
- Help with stock checks, equipment checks and completing required paperwork
- Keep the hangar and aircraft work areas clean, safe and organised
- Work closely with colleagues, British Airways teams and contractors to complete work safely, efficiently and on time

- Ability to work well in a team
- Great work ethic
- Valid Passport or Driving Licence /Birth Certificate or National ID card
- UK Settled Status (If applicable)
- Proof of National Insurance
- Proof of (current) Address
- 5 Year Address History
- 5 Year Work Reference History
- Successful candidates will be required to complete a basic criminal record check following interview in line with CAA requirements
- Previous airport and/or cleaning experience would be beneficial
PLEASE NOTE: As this position is in the aviation industry, successful applicants must be able to provide 5-year checkable history.
