Gatwick Ground Services (GGS) provide airport ground operations at London Gatwick and London City Airports. As a wholly owned British Airways subsidiary we take great pride in delivering the same impeccable customer service and fully comprehensive training. We are proud to deliver the highest standard of ground handling to British Airways and our other airline partners.
Gatwick Ground Services was established in 2016, to support the ramp operations of British Airways at Gatwick. Following its success, the company branched into Aircraft Cleaning in 2018. In 2020, Passenger Services formed the newest department within the GGS business to provide an all-round ground handling option.
Our operations across two stations support British Airways, Air India, Iberia Express, Qatar Airways, Singapore Airlines and Vueling Airlines providing a complete ground handling solution.

Please note that we work in partnership with our recruitment provider, One Resourcing Ltd, who manage the onboarding process including the background checks required to obtain a Full ID Pass for London Gatwick Airport.
The Role
Airside Officer
Reporting to the Head of Dispatch and Operations, you will be part of a team providing 24 hour coverage and responsible for the smooth and effective running of our LGW operation. The purpose of the Airside Officer is to monitor and allocate staff for all GGS airside ramp activities, ensuring the highest performance and safety standards are met within a safe work environment and in line with the Policies and Procedures of GGS.

Shifts run on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern, with a variation of day shifts (0500 to 1700), mid shifts (1100 to 2300) and night shifts (1700 to 0500).
What You'll Do
- Maintain a safe and secure working environment, whilst delivering an operation to the highest standards of safety, customer service, regularity and consistency.
- Demonstrate an ability to communicate well, build strong relationships and rapport with people from all levels of GGS and customer businesses.
- Plan and monitor the day and following day’s work load and staffing levels, reacting to any issues that may occur.
- Ensure all GGS assets are accounted for and in a fully serviceable condition; these assets to be signed in/out by all allocated staff.
- Give a detailed shift report at the end of each shift to the Duty Manager, report and produce operational documents to and for senior management.
- Ensure company uniform and grooming standards are being adhered to at all times.
- Reporting of unserviceable GSE equipment into the TCR portal and monitoring of telematics.
- Check Dispatch flight files for compliance, recording all checks and reporting any failings to the Duty Manager.
- Ensure staff member injuries and incidents are reported in compliance with GGS’s reporting process.
What You'll Bring To Gatwick Ground Services
- Proven planning and organising skills.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) to all levels both internal and external.
- Resilient, able to work as a team player in a complex, cross-functional, pressurised operational environment.
- Flexible, having a positive attitude to change.
- Ability to respond to a culturally diverse community.
- Proactive and highly motivated self-starter able to work without supervision.
- Good people skills are required and the ability to work accurately while under operational pressure.
- A high standard of personal expectation and the ability to lead by a professional example
Your Experience
- You will require minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a Ground Handling and/or Airline environment
- CRC compliant to enable airside ID pass
- Full DVLA driving licence to enable airside driving permit
- Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent

Salary £31,705.56 (£16.26ph) increasing to £36,039.92 (£18.48ph) following the successful completion of 6 months probation, plus £2,506.43 additional annual shift pay.
Overtime paid at time and a half during the week, and double time at weekends and Bank Holidays.
