SOC Alarm Response & Investigations Controller (AR&IC)

Location: Basingstoke
Hours: Full time, 4 on, 4 off, days 06:00 - 18:00 and nights 18:00 - 06:00
Pay: £14.70 ph

We are looking for a SOC Alarm Response & Investigations Controller (AR&IC) to join our Security Operations Centre in Basingstoke. This is a key role supporting the delivery of security operations across a major client portfolio, acting as a central point of contact for alarm activations, security incidents, investigations, and emergency escalations.
About The Role
As an AR&IC, you will play a vital role in monitoring, coordinating and responding to security incidents across multiple sites. Working within a technologically advanced Security Operations Centre, you will oversee alarm monitoring, CCTV systems, emergency communications and incident management, ensuring issues are dealt with quickly, professionally, and effectively.
You'll be responsible for coordinating security resources, supporting investigations, liaising with stakeholders, and ensuring incidents are seen through from initial activation to successful resolution.
- Monitor and operate security systems, CCTV platforms and alarm monitoring technologies.
- Respond to and manage security incidents, alarms and emergency situations across multiple locations.
- Coordinate and task security officers and stakeholders to ensure effective incident resolution.
- Provide clear and timely escalation of incidents and emerging risks.
- Produce detailed incident reports and investigations.
- Carry out alarm analysis and identify trends, risks and potential vulnerabilities.
- Support the supervision and direction of security personnel during incidents and operational activities.
- Complete detailed shift handovers and ensure continuity between teams.
- Monitor site access control systems and security procedures.
- Maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders, management teams and client representatives.
- Ensure compliance with security procedures, GDPR requirements and industry regulations.
- Support the training, development and mentoring of team members

What We Are Looking For
We are seeking a security professional who is calm, analytical and highly organised, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Experience managing or supporting security incidents involving multiple stakeholders
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Experience producing accurate reports and incident documentation
- Advanced IT skills and confidence working with multiple monitoring systems
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and during emergencies
- Experience within a Security Operations Centre or control room environment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work methodically
- Experience supervising or supporting operational teams
- Customer-focused approach with excellent stakeholder management skills
- Understanding of equality, diversity and inclusive working practices
- SIA Licence
- First Aid at Work Certificate
Desirable
- ILM Level 2 qualification (or equivalent) in Management
- Door Supervisor SIA Licence
- Experience using C-Cure 9000, Genetec, Quantum or other integrated security management systems
