Algorithmic Trader / Market Maker
An innovative digital assets business is seeking an experienced Algorithmic Trader / Market Maker to develop and lead its in-house liquidity provision across a growing portfolio of tokenised metals.
Working with established financial institutions, exchanges and industrial producers, the business is connecting traditional commodities markets with digital asset infrastructure. This is an opportunity to take ownership of trading strategies, P&L and the technology supporting execution, while working closely with a proprietary trading desk and specialist engineers.
The Role
You will build and operate market-making and arbitrage strategies across tokenised commodities and their traditional market equivalents. Combining trading judgement with strong technical capability, you will manage risk, optimise execution and develop reliable trading infrastructure.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and running algorithmic arbitrage strategies between tokenised metals and liquid commodity futures.
- Providing liquidity in tokenised metals, managing quotes and inventory alongside physical market hedges.
- Owning strategy P&L, monitoring performance and improving execution and risk management.
- Managing relationships with external market-making partners and identifying opportunities to bring further trading capabilities in-house.
- Leading the trading development of an on-chain request-for-quote (RFQ) solver, working with specialist blockchain engineers.
- Identifying additional arbitrage and market-making opportunities across digital assets and other markets.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
