About the role
At Solidus Labs, we are shaping the financial markets of tomorrow by providing cutting-edge, real-time trade surveillance and transaction monitoring technology for regulated and crypto-native financial institutions. We protect investors, enhance transparency, and ensure regulatory compliance across traditional assets, prediction markets, and crypto.
We're hiring a Tech Lead to join our Algorithms team and own the Transaction Monitoring (TM) detection algorithms, product engineering effort end to end.
What you'll own:
- Lead, mentor, and grow the existing TM global engineering team - sprint delivery, code quality, on-call health.
- Own implementation of our offchain TM detection suite.
- Drive the build-out of on-chain TM - wallet-level and protocol-level monitoring, and the data pipelines behind it.
- Produce and defend both high-level and low-level design: system architecture, data models, detection logic, and threshold/tuning frameworks.
- Partner with Global Product on the on-chain roadmap, translating regulatory and customer requirements into deliverable engineering plans.
- Merging various patterns to re-use: You'll help shape that architecture and, over time, how engineering resources are shared across TM and TS.
- Work with compliance, customer success, and solutions teams on alert quality, false-positive reduction, and client tuning requests.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What we're looking for
- 8+ years backend engineering experience, including 2+ years leading or tech-leading a team.
- Strong domain knowledge of the financial ecosystem - fintech, payments, banking or crypto - and a solid understanding of financial crime or compliance concepts.
- Genuinely hands-on: Strong data structures and algorithms fundamentals, a track record of high-performance concurrent code, and still reviewing PRs and debugging production.
- Proven design ownership at both levels - architecture decisions and detailed implementation design.
- Experience with high-throughput, low latency data systems: streaming (Kafka or similar), analytical stores (ClickHouse, Snowflake, or similar), and distributed batch processing.
- Clear written and verbal communication with non-engineering stakeholders.
- Experience with AI coding and using coding harnesses
