Job Description: Alignment Engineer
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Alignment Engineer based in the United Kingdom.
As an Alignment Engineer, you will play a key role in helping organizations improve their IT environments through remote assessments, technical reviews, and infrastructure optimization. You will work closely with clients and internal teams to identify risks, maintain documentation accuracy, and ensure technology standards are consistently applied. This position combines technical expertise, problem-solving, and customer-focused consulting in a remote-first environment. You will contribute to improving client infrastructure, supporting best practices, and delivering high-quality technical recommendations. The role offers the opportunity to work with diverse technology environments while continuously developing your IT knowledge. You will be part of a collaborative team focused on operational excellence, security, and long-term client success.
Accountabilities
As an Alignment Engineer, you will be responsible for reviewing, improving, and maintaining client technology environments while ensuring alignment with established standards and best practices. You will support clients remotely, collaborate with technical teams, and provide insights that improve infrastructure reliability and performance.
- Perform remote standards and alignment reviews to assess client environments and identify improvement opportunities.
- Maintain, update, and retire client standards templates as technologies and business requirements evolve.
- Develop strong technical knowledge of assigned client environments, systems, and infrastructure.
- Review and maintain accurate client documentation, ensuring information is complete and up to date.
- Identify technical risks and collaborate with internal teams to recommend appropriate solutions.
- Provide technical recommendations and support best practices across client environments.
- Proactively monitor and improve client infrastructure through remote management activities.
- Review project outcomes, documentation, and execution quality to ensure successful delivery.
- Maintain strong client relationships and communicate effectively with stakeholders, consultants, and contractors.
- Stay informed about developments in IT systems, telecommunications, hardware, and software technologies.
- Support knowledge sharing, training, and mentoring initiatives within the team.
- Participate in continuous improvement processes and contribute to operational excellence.
- Follow company policies, procedures, and quality standards in all activities.

Requirements
You are a technically skilled IT professional with experience supporting complex environments and a strong ability to analyze, document, and improve technology systems. You combine technical knowledge with excellent communication skills and a customer-focused mindset.
- 3+ years of experience in IT administration, technical support, or a similar technology-focused role.
- Strong understanding of IT and telecommunications infrastructure, hardware, and software applications.
- Experience with network and workstation operating systems, including Microsoft Windows environments.
- Knowledge of web technologies, internet systems, and modern IT infrastructure concepts.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and willingness to learn new technologies.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team environment.
- High attention to detail, professionalism, reliability, and commitment to client service.
- Ability to interpret instructions, manage confidential information, and communicate with stakeholders at different levels.
- Experience working with managed service providers (MSPs), virtual CIO environments, or standards committees is a plus.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Active Directory, VLANs, firewalls, switches, and network infrastructure is an advantage.
- Preferred certifications include two or more of the following: CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, or 3CX Basic Certified Engineer.
- Ability to meet remote work requirements, including:
- A reliable computer running Windows 11, macOS 12+, or equivalent hardware specifications.
- Minimum 8GB RAM and stable internet connection with at least 5 Mbps upload and download speeds.
- Quality noise-cancelling headset, HD webcam, smartphone with authentication capability, and a second monitor.
- UPS backup if using a desktop computer.
