Department: Food & Beverage All-day-dining: Gallery

Inspired and supported by: Restaurant General Manager

Salary: £38,900 per annum including service charge

You will be accountable for:

  • Creating exceptional and memorable guest experiences that reflect The Savoy’s legendary standards of service and consistently deliver against Forbes Five-Star expectations across our Food & Beverage outlets.
  • Anticipating our guests’ individual needs and preferences, delivering intuitive, personalised and gracious service with genuine warmth, confidence and attention to detail.
  • Acting as an ambassador for The Savoy, bringing our heritage, stories and Food & Beverage experiences to life through engaging and knowledgeable conversations with our guests.
  • Demonstrating an exceptional knowledge of our menus, ingredients, preparation methods, beverages, promotions and experiences, enabling you to provide thoughtful and tailored recommendations.
  • Taking personal ownership of the guest journey, recognising opportunities to create special moments and lasting memories, and responding confidently and discreetly to individual requests.
  • Maintaining an impeccable professional presence and presentation at all times, reflecting the elegance, grooming standards and sophistication expected of a Savoy colleague.

Your key responsibilities & contribution will be:

  • Delivering warm, polished and highly personalised service, combining the precision expected of a Forbes Five-Star hotel with the distinctive personality and genuine hospitality for which The Savoy is renowned.
  • Welcoming and engaging with guests confidently, building natural rapport and ensuring every interaction feels personal rather than transactional.
  • Guiding guests through our Food & Beverage offering with enthusiasm and expertise, understanding their preferences and making considered recommendations that enhance their experience.
  • Taking reservations accurately and thoughtfully, capturing relevant guest preferences and details to support a seamless and personalised experience from arrival to departure.
  • Identifying natural opportunities to enhance the guest experience and drive revenue through intelligent recommendations, thoughtful upselling and a strong understanding of our wider hotel offering.
  • Sharing your knowledge of our menus, beverages, seasonal experiences, promotions and The Savoy’s rich heritage and stories, confidently adapting your approach to each guest.
  • Working collaboratively across Food & Beverage and the wider hotel, communicating guest preferences and relevant information to ensure a seamless experience across every touchpoint.
  • Taking ownership of guest requests and concerns with professionalism, discretion and urgency, seeking support when appropriate and ensuring matters are followed through to resolution.
  • Upholding the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, food safety and health & safety, ensuring every element of the guest environment reflects our Five-Star standards.
  • Ensuring menus, collateral and all guest-facing materials are immaculately presented, accurate and readily available, while completing required administrative duties with care and attention to detail.
  • Contributing positively to a culture of excellence, collaboration and continuous improvement, supporting your colleagues and taking pride in delivering extraordinary experiences as one team.

Qualifications

What you will need to do this role:

Essential:

  • 1-2 years serving or hosting experience in a luxury hospitality environment
  • Passion for and understanding of 5-star hospitality and what it takes to deliver it
  • Empathetic with a talent for building rapport, and reading each guest’s desired level of interaction
  • Quick thinking, resourceful and able to solve problems ‘in the moment’
  • Ability to always remain calm and courteous
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced and changing environment
  • Able to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Willing to work in rotating shifts including weekends and public holidays
  • Excellent knowledge of spoken and written English

Desirable:

  • Basic knowledge of a POS System
  • Basic knowledge of Seven Rooms and OpenTable
  • Industry related certifications (i.e. WSET)
  • Basic knowledge of a PMS system (Opera)
