About the Role:
Can you picture yourself joining a positive and progressive team of Exercise Physiologists, striving to deliver best outcomes within a public health setting to those who need it most? If so, read on.
You’ll be working at The Canberra Hospital, which is a modern 600-bed tertiary hospital, with teaching and research as a focus. The Exercise Physiology Department is an acute service to support patient flow and patient outcomes within The Canberra Hospital. Under direct or indirect supervision of an Allied Health Professional, the Exercise Physiology Allied Health Assistant plays a key role in the day-to-day functioning of the Exercise Physiology Department, working flexibly and effectively as a team member providing services to the community.
You will be responsible for implementing/supervising inpatient and outpatient cohorts completing clinical exercise programs in individual and group-based settings, accurately maintaining clinical documentation, and ensuring equipment and clinical stock is maintained. The Exercise Physiology Department provides services to:
- Admitted hospital patients to improve function and discharge opportunities.
- Outpatients that require support to continue accessing acute treatments including ‘prehabilitation’.
- Multidisciplinary outpatient Cardiac Rehabilitation and Heart Failure Rehabilitation programs.

- Comply with CHS credentialing and scope of clinical practice requirements for allied health professionals.
