Job Share AHP Divisional Lead
We are seeking to recruit a passionate, knowledgeable, and dynamic AHP (Occupational Therapist, Dietitian, or Speech and Language Therapist) to be part of a job share as the AHP Divisional Lead across CAMHS, EIP, and Perinatal services. This is a senior leadership role within our well-established and innovative Sussex services, providing strategic direction, clinical expertise, and professional governance for AHP practice across the service and profession-specific pathways, including crisis and acute care services.
About the Role
As the AHP Divisional Professional Lead for CAMHS, you will provide professional leadership, supervision, and workforce development for AHP staff, ensuring high-quality, evidence-based AHP interventions are delivered consistently and safely across services.
You will join a friendly, supportive, and highly skilled multidisciplinary leadership team, committed to delivering high-quality, responsive services in close partnership with families and carers, education, social care, and wider children and young people's services. Core aspects of the role include clinical leadership, system-wide consultation, and supporting staff to work confidently and collaboratively with risk, families, and the wider professional network around the young person.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing visible professional leadership for AHP staff across CAMHS, EIP, and Perinatal, setting clear standards for practice, performance, and professional conduct.
- Leading and influencing the development, implementation, and evaluation of AHP practice, ensuring alignment with national guidance, evidence-based standards, and Trust priorities.
- Working closely with operational and clinical leads to ensure safe, effective, and person-centered service delivery across CAMHS.
- Supporting and overseeing workforce governance, development, including recruitment, induction, supervision, appraisal, and continuous professional development (CPD) for AHP staff.
- Promoting a positive learning culture, including the coordination and delivery of student placements, apprenticeships, and training programs with higher education partners.
- Embedding trauma-informed, relational approaches in daily practice, supporting teams to work safely, reflectively, and compassionately.
- Leading service improvement and quality improvement initiatives, embedding research and evidence-based practice across the division.
- Representing AHPs at divisional and Trust-wide meetings, contributing to strategic planning, policy development, and key organizational workstreams.
- Fostering a culture of inclusivity, safety, and continuous improvement, aligned with Trust values and equality, diversity, and inclusion principles.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
