Accountant
Alpha International is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to join our Finance Team. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong financial controls, supporting budgeting and forecasting, and providing financial insight to help the organisation fulfil its mission effectively and sustainably.
Applications for this role will close on Sunday 23rd August. The salary for this role is £40,000.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations, journals, and financial analysis to ensure accurate reporting
- Support the production of management accounts, forecasts, annual budgets, and financial reporting
- Maintain strong financial controls, supporting compliance, governance, payroll reviews, supplier approvals, and regulatory reporting
- Assist with year-end accounts preparation, audit requirements, and Charity Commission reporting
- Partner with budget holders and the Giving Team to provide financial guidance, analysis, and support
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, controls, and reporting efficiency

Requirements
Essential Skills, Experience and Knowledge:
- Qualified, part-qualified, or qualified by experience accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent)
- Proven experience working in a finance or accounting environment
- Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Outlook
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work
- Ability to work under pressure and meet challenging deadlines
