Working alongside the Prisons Development Manager, you will help strengthen and expand Alpha's prison ministry across the UK. You will support prison chaplains, church leaders, prison-focused ministries, and volunteers by providing training, resources, encouragement, and practical support.
This role combines relationship management, event coordination, training delivery, networking, and administration, helping ensure that more people in prison have the opportunity to encounter Jesus through Alpha.

- Support and equip prison chaplains, prison-focused churches, and partner organisations across the UK.
- Develop and strengthen a growing network of Alpha for Prisons leaders, volunteers, and churches.
- Deliver and facilitate Alpha for Prisons training events regionally and nationally.
- Assist with the planning and promotion of the Prison Ministry Conference and other networking events.

- Collect and share stories of life transformation from prisons for use across Alpha UK and Alpha International.
- Encourage and mentor younger leaders exploring prison ministry.
- Represent Alpha at conferences, church events, and speaking engagements.
- Maintain accurate Salesforce records and support reporting and data tracking activities.
- Assist in the creation of new resources and ministry tools tailored to the prison context.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
