Future Pathways CIC provides alternative education and support services for young people in Doncaster. The organisation offers a range of accredited qualifications and engaging activities designed to re-engage learners and support their personal development.

Future Pathways CIC focuses on creating inclusive, supportive learning environments that meet individual needs and help young people achieve positive outcomes. The team works closely with local partners, families, and communities to offer tailored educational pathways and meaningful support.

Role Description

The Alternative Provision Tutor is a part-time, on-site role based in Doncaster. The tutor will deliver engaging lessons and learning activities to young people who benefit from alternative education, adapting teaching methods to suit diverse needs and abilities.

  • Planning and preparing lesson materials
  • Monitoring learner progress
  • Providing feedback
  • Maintaining accurate records

The tutor will support learners’ personal, social, and emotional development, manage classroom behavior in a positive manner, and contribute to a safe, inclusive learning environment.

The role also involves working collaboratively with colleagues, parents/carers, and external agencies to help learners achieve their educational goals.

Qualifications

  • Experience in teaching or tutoring young people, ideally within alternative provision or similar educational settings.
  • Strong classroom management and behavior support skills, with the ability to build positive, respectful relationships with learners.
  • Ability to plan and deliver differentiated lessons and activities that engage and motivate young people.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with learners, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and inclusive education practices.
  • Relevant teaching, tutoring, or youth work qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, Level 3/4 in Education, or equivalent experience).
  • Competence in using basic IT tools for lesson preparation, record-keeping, and reporting.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
