"Alumni Engagement Specialist" – The Equity Project (TEP) Charter School

Our High School Success Office extends TEP’s mission to supports alumni beyond high school graduation. As an Alumni Engagement Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in securing the best high school pathways, experiential learning opportunities, and post-graduation support—ultimately setting TEP alumni up for exceeding state and city graduation rates while preparing them for meaningful futures.

TEP’s mission drives the work of the Alumni Engagement Specialist:

  • All alumni must graduate high school in four years, outperforming NYS, NYC, and local averages.
  • Every graduate must gain skills for a meaningful and bright future.
  • You will elevate alumni success as part of our evolving support ecosystem.

🚀 Role Overview

The Alumni Engagement Specialist ensures thriving long-term success for TEP’s 1,500+ alumni. As part of a three-person High School Success Team, you will:

  • Evolve and scale programs to build strong alumni connections and foster educational and career trajectories.
  • Partner with a mission-driven team focused on equity and continuous improvement.

🔍 Key Responsibilities

📊 Alumnus Support & Systems Development

  • Expand and refine TEP’s alumni services (e.g., mentoring, resources).
  • Develop programs that promote higher education, self-advocacy, and career exploration.

�ინ� Mentorship & Engagement

  • Conduct monthly one-on-one coaching for academically at-risk alumni and their families.
  • Increase on- and off-campus engagement through meaningful initiatives.
  • Design and curate special events (e.g., college fairs, reunions).

🎓 Academic & Career Guidance

  • Expand academic and career resources: college-applications, experiential programs, and in-college partnerships.
  • Mentor 8th-grade students (with the Director of Alumni Engagement) on high school transition.

📈 Data-Informed Advocacy & Analytics

  • Track and analyze alumni data (grades, graduation timelines, college success, careers).
  • Partner with the High School Placement Manager to research NYC schools for the best ROI.

🌍 Advocacy & Partnerships

  • Connect with schools, colleges, and professionals to amplify TEP alumni opportunities.
  • Oversee the alumni volunteer program, ensuring opportunities for community service.

📢 Communication & Technology

  • Manage communication platforms, ensuring a diverse alumni community feels heard.
  • Flourish as a social media and online engagement leader.
