Role Description
The (Ambient) Director of Fulfilment – FMCG will lead end-to-end ambient fulfilment operations for fast-moving consumer goods, ensuring service, cost, and quality targets are met across warehousing and distribution. This full-time, on-site role based in Oxford will oversee ambient warehouse performance, inventory accuracy, order processing, and outbound logistics, while driving continuous improvement and efficiency. The Director will collaborate with internal teams and external partners to optimise capacity utilisation, streamline processes, and ensure compliance with health and safety, food safety, and regulatory requirements.

- Leading and developing operational teams
- Managing KPIs and budgets
- Resolving fulfilment issues
- Implementing best practices for FMCG handling and storage
- Contributing to commercial decisions
- Supporting new business onboarding
- Aligning fulfilment capabilities with customer service expectations and growth plans
Qualifications
- Proven leadership experience in FMCG warehousing, fulfilment, or logistics, ideally in ambient environments.
- Strong operational management skills, including KPI management, performance improvement, and cost control.
- Experience with inventory management, order fulfilment processes, and warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Knowledge of health and safety, compliance, and quality standards relevant to FMCG and ambient storage.
- Ability to build, lead, and develop diverse teams, with strong people management and coaching skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities, with a data-driven approach.
- Effective stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience collaborating across operations, commercial, and customer functions.
- Background in 3PL, retail, or consumer goods logistics is highly desirable; experience in high-volume environments is an advantage.
- Relevant degree or professional qualification in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Comfortable working on-site in Oxford and able to adapt to changing business needs and priorities.
