The Ambulance Care Service (NEPTS)
The Ambulance Care Service (NEPTS) is responsible for providing non-emergency and pre-planned transport, to and from hospitals and treatment centres for patients who have appointments at out-patient clinics, day surgery units, and day centres. The service acts as a vital link between communities and is an important and integral part of the overall package of health care provided by the Ambulance Service in Wales.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for the management and leadership of the Ambulance Care planning, control, and discharge team based in the Journey Coordination Centre. The post holder will manage the team supporting the delivery of a patient-focused non-emergency transport service for South East Wales Health Board area. Supervisory or management experience is essential, and the post offers an opportunity to work within a very busy dynamic team environment where issues and challenges require a calm and efficient approach, coordinating and problem solving on an ongoing basis as well as developing and leading the team. This team is responsible for advance and on-the-day scheduling for all non-emergency patient journeys within a specific geographical area, therefore good organizational skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities
- Efficient management of Ambulance Care and all Ambulance Care Control Services Staff, irrespective of role during the period of duty or shift.
- The application of National Control Procedures and other procedures and instructions concerned with the movement of patients within the defined standards of Ambulance Care during the period of duty.
Desirable Skills
- The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Salary
In line with the Trust’s Starting Salary Procedure, all applicants will start at the bottom of the band for the position applied for, but can apply for a higher salary if they have previous experience relevant to the position.
