Description
Ansible Motion is a world-leading designer and manufacturer of advanced Driver-in-the-Loop (DIL) simulators used by leading automotive OEMs, motorsport teams and research organisations across the globe.
This is a unique opportunity to join a highly innovative engineering business at the forefront of simulation technology, where you'll play a key role in developing cutting-edge electromechanical systems that support the future of vehicle development and performance engineering.
Working within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to complex projects, influence technical direction, and see your designs progress from concept through to commissioning at customer sites worldwide.
Core Responsibilities
-
Own the electrical design of simulator subsystems, for example:
- Cabin
- Access system
- Motion Stages
-
Lead assigned electrical engineering projects and technical workstreams from concept through to delivery, ensuring solutions meet agreed requirements, quality standards and project timelines

Develop testing procedures and provide technical guidance to support effective validation and commissioning activities

Perform design testing, commissioning and validation activities

Provide technical direction and support to engineers working on assigned activities, including sharing knowledge and supporting problem-solving

Develop 2D block line diagrams using CAD

Produce engineering drawings, specifications, BOM structures and part lists

Work with purchasing on costings for parts

Updating existing 2D CAD

Work closely with other departments within Ansible Motion, and with suppliers

Coach and mentor engineers within EDES, sharing technical knowledge and supporting the development of engineering capability
-
Support the Chief Designer and Technical Director with technical activities, design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives as required

Travel worldwide to support build, testing, commissioning and servicing of customer simulators

What are we looking for?
Essential
-
Relevant engineering qualification or equivalent industry experience gained through a combination of education, apprenticeship or practical engineering experience.
-
Minimum five years’ experience working in an engineering environment.
-
Experience delivering complex engineering projects or technical workstreams.
-
Experience providing technical guidance, coaching or mentoring to other engineers.
-
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite of products.
-
Knowledge of, or experience working within, the automotive or motorsport sectors.
Desirable
-
AutoCAD experience
-
Experience with automated, direct drive systems
-
Experience with high voltage systems
Hands-on practical engineering experience, for example manufacturing, assembly, vehicle maintenance or similar.
