Job Title: Asbestos Analyst
Location: Chelmsford
Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a well-established UKAS-accredited asbestos consultancy in their search for an experienced Asbestos Analyst to join their team in Chelmsford.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Asbestos Analyst to join a respected consultancy with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality asbestos services. Working across a varied portfolio of commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, and public sector properties, you'll benefit from a structured workload, supportive management, and long-term career progression.
The Role
As an Asbestos Analyst, you will be responsible for delivering a range of asbestos analytical services across client sites throughout Essex and the surrounding areas.

Working independently and alongside an experienced technical team, the Asbestos Analyst will ensure all analytical work is completed to the highest standards while maintaining full compliance with HSG248, current asbestos legislation, HSE guidance, and UKAS procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertaking four-stage clearances in accordance with HSG248
- Carrying out background, reassurance, personal, and leak air monitoring
- Conducting smoke testing where required
- Producing accurate and compliant analytical reports
- Liaising professionally with clients, contractors, and internal teams
- Managing your own workload and daily schedule efficiently
- Ensuring all work complies with current asbestos legislation, HSE guidance, and UKAS procedures

What We're Looking For
- BOHS P403 and P404 qualifications (essential)
- Previous experience working as an Asbestos Analyst
- Strong understanding of HSG248 and current asbestos legislation
- Experience working within a UKAS-accredited consultancy is desirable
- Full UK driving licence
- Excellent communication, organisational, and report-writing skills
- Professional, reliable, and quality-focused approach to work
