Research Analyst
Study the fundamentals of public companies through primary research
In Practise Research is owned by IP 1 Group, a London-based investment holding company backed by MITIMCo. IP 1 Group also owns stakes in Aero1 Group and Software Circle.
For every company you cover, you will interview 5-10 former executives, customers, or suppliers to build a first-principles understanding of the business and the industry it sits in.
Four separate analyst positions
- Semiconductors — power generation, fab equipment, foundries, chip designers, and the software layer above.
- Life sciences — equipment suppliers, CDMOs, and pharma companies.
- Energy — fuel supply, generation, transmission and distribution, and the equipment behind each stage.
- Generalist, IP References — primary research on CEOs and senior leaders across sectors, interviewing the former colleagues, direct reports, and board members who worked alongside them.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
