Job Profile Summary
Develops financial solutions to meet the unique capital needs of large corporate and financial institution clients, for example M&A needs (acquisitions and disposals) that cannot typically be met by regular lending. Carry out comprehensive sector analysis, and financial and business profile analysis with a product neutral review of eligible funding alternatives and combinations to deliver multi-product financing solutions, which draw from the organization’s complete product offering.
Department Overview:
The Financial Sponsors Group (‘FSG’) is a global team covering ING’s largest financial sponsor (private capital) relationships by income and exposure. Our primary responsibility is to manage these relationships, coordinating across products and geographies to explore and maximise cross-buy opportunities. This involves regular interaction with Leveraged Finance, Corporate Finance, Fund Finance, Financial Markets, Transaction Services and other Sector teams. Added to this, FSG has a secondary portfolio management function with responsibility for allocation and performance of capital, as well as tracking share of wallet and leading reciprocity discussions.

Main Duties and Responsibilities of Role:
Client coverage:
- Support the senior banker in their role for FSG clients
- Prepare marketing materials for client meetings and/or pitches
- Help to identify and drive cross-buy opportunities
- Support transaction execution where appropriate
- Support commercial and credit committee applications where appropriate
- Participate in internal deal teams to drive and coordinate origination
Portfolio and data management:
- Create, manage and maintain the key data sources and systems used by the team to track and originate opportunities
- Support and promote FSG role as central financial sponsor knowledge hub
- Produce portfolio financial reports for internal stakeholders
- Support senior team members in the development and updating of account plans, in order to allocate scarce resources in the right relationships and optimize portfolio management with the objective to deliver on KPIs
- Help to coordinate KYC onboarding and remediation efforts

- Lead internal reporting presentations, with support from junior staff
- Support FSG input for any regulatory outreach
- Develop internal network
Candidate Profile
Experience/Knowledge:
- Knowledge of relevant financial sponsor product suite is preferred
Personal Competencies:
- Commercial savviness to trace opportunities in client universe
- Energy and drive to support the further development of the FSG business
- Entrepreneurial mindset and tenacity
