About the team:

The GLBA/IDT Finance team, within Global Banking & Advisory (GLBA), is responsible for structuring and delivering tailor‑made debt financing and advisory solutions to clients across the infrastructure, telecommunications, media and technology sectors in the EMEA region.

The team serves a diversified client base including investment grade and non‑investment grade corporates, private equity and infrastructure sponsors, public sector entities, and financial investors active across both traditional and digital infrastructure.

GLBA/IDT provides financing and advisory services across a broad range of asset classes, including: transportation infrastructure (roads, railways, ports, airports), core and value‑add infrastructure, energy transition and energy services, utilities and networks (electricity, gas, district heating, EV charging), telecommunications and digital infrastructure (mobile networks, towers, fibre, data centres and related assets), water and waste infrastructure, social infrastructure and PPPs.

With integrated teams based in Paris, London, Madrid and Milan, New York, Singapore and Sydney, the GLBA/IDT Finance business line leverages a global platform to provide project finance, structured finance, acquisition and corporate debt solutions, as well as strategic and financial advisory services, working closely with internal product partners to support clients throughout the full financing and investment lifecycle.

Summary of Key Purposes of the Role:

  • Deliver successful transaction outcomes by leading or assisting with transaction management and execution across infrastructure, telecoms, media and technology sectors
  • Build and manage client relationships with target borrowers and Sponsors across the Infrastructure and TMT sectors in the EMEA region
  • Identify and address clients’ needs in terms of raising and managing capital, tailoring solutions to sector-specific requirements
  • Manage risks appropriately in relation to credit risk, reputation risk, compliance risk, operational risk, etc.
  • Represent the IDT Business Line in internal dialogues, working closely with colleagues across GLBA and IBD to deliver best-in-class advisory and arranging services to the client base

Responsibilities:

  • To cover clients to address their Infrastructure, Telecoms, Media and Technology financing and advisory needs across loan and bond markets
  • Clients: Infrastructure funds, managers, developers, operators and owners, as well as IG and non‑IG corporates and telecom / digital infrastructure players active in the EMEA region
  • Products: Loans, bonds, private placements, acquisition and structured finance, related derivatives and hedging solutions
  • Sector: Transportation infrastructure (roads, railways, ports, airports), core and value add infrastructure, energy transition and energy services, utilities and networks (electricity, gas, district heating, EV charging), telecommunications and digital infrastructure (mobile networks, towers, fibre, data centres and related assets), water and waste infrastructure, social infrastructure and PPPs.
  • To originate, develop and maintain a track record of winning mandates in addressing clients’ borrowing and capital management needs
  • Maintain a strong understanding of developments, market trends and ongoing transactions across infrastructure and TMT
  • Identify potential origination opportunities
  • Analyse alternative potential bidders and consortia and formulating a marketing strategy to secure a mandate
  • Preparation of support marketing and client’s pitches and co-ordination of pitch presentations
  • Leading pitches to clients
  • To contribute to the effective, responsible and timely execution of Infrastructure and TMT mandates, with particular attention to compliance and risk management requirements
  • Identify, originate and execute new business opportunities (incl. general marketing and preparing pitchbooks), addressing clients’ needs in terms of raising capital
  • Remain abreast of market trends and developments and evolve the team’s capabilities and focus accordingly
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with clients, target clients, internal partners and other key market participants
  • Lead execution teams on advisory and arranging mandates (specifically with financing proposals / options, credit analysis, credit ratings, info memos, term sheets, due diligence, modelling, presentations, research, credit applications, credit approvals and long form documentation)
  • Ongoing support of the transaction post financial close
  • Promote and enhance the profile of the IDT team internally and externally
  • Managing, training and developing junior staff
  • Ensure ongoing file supervision, KYC, compliance, due diligence and regulatory requirements are met
  • To develop advisory and new product offerings in line with IDT strategy and priorities
  • To develop the IDT client base in line with SG’s strategy and priorities
  • Establish and maintain a network of contacts with key existing and prospective clients, as well as other market participants
  • Provide coverage support as part of broader marketing and origination teams
