Analyst, Contract Logistics (Inventory & Operations)
Brackmills, Northampton
Mon-Fri 8:00-16:00
A great new opportunity for an Analyst has arisen in our Brackmills, Northampton site supporting inventory and warehouse operations.
What will you be doing?
- Prepare and maintain daily, weekly and monthly KPI reports for Inventory, Operations and Senior Management review.
- Prepare Job Clocking (JC) reports and productivity reporting, highlighting trends, exceptions and areas requiring operational review.
- Produce ABC analysis across clients and recommend pick-face review, storage strategy and stock layout improvements.
- Produce trend analysis, exception reports and data summaries to support stock accuracy, productivity and compliance decisions.
- Gather, validate and analyse data from approved sources including WMS, Job Clocking and other agreed reporting tools.
- Write, maintain and improve approved SQL/data extracts, subject to DSV training, approved access and authorisation.
- Support system compliance reporting, including putaway, storage, picking, relocation and inventory process checks.
- Support shrinkage reporting, capacity/utilisation monitoring and client allocation reviews by preparing data packs and summaries.
- Develop and improve reporting tools using Excel, SQL and approved reporting methods, reducing manual work and improving consistency.
- Support continuous improvement projects, customer implementations and operational change through analysis and data validation.
- Support CargoWrite reporting, Key User development activity and EDI/Lightwell checks only once required training and access are completed.
- Provide ad-hoc data support to the Inventory Team Leader, Inventory Supervisor, Stock & Systems Manager and Senior Management.

About You
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivots, lookups, formulas, data validation and report building.
- SQL experience or strong working knowledge, with willingness to complete DSV SQL training and work within approved access controls.
- Strong analytical thinking and ability to interpret operational data into practical conclusions.
- Good attention to detail and ability to validate data before reporting.
- Ability to communicate analysis clearly to operational and senior management audiences.
- Good understanding of warehouse, inventory or contract logistics processes, or the ability to learn them quickly.
- Able to prioritise multiple reporting deadlines and ad-hoc requests.
- Continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to identify inefficient manual processes and propose better reporting solutions.
Desirable Experience / Knowledge
- Experience in contract logistics, warehousing, supply chain, inventory or operational reporting.
- Experience using WMS systems such as CargoWrite or RedPrairie.
- Experience with Job Clocking, labour productivity reporting, Power Query, Power BI, VBA or report automation is desirable.
- CompTIA Data+ Certificate or equivalent.
