About the role
The Discretionary Middle Office is responsible for ensuring the operational control environment for our Discretionary business runs efficiently, accurately, and in a highly controlled manner.
As an Analyst, you will run key operational processes independently while continuing to develop broader technical and operational expertise in real estate operations. Managing daily cash reconciliations, performing rigorous oversight of quarterly NAVs produced by Fund Administrators, and analysing property-level valuations alongside the front office will be core to the role.
Contributing to the evolution of the team's core processes and identifying solutions to ongoing operational requirements will also be key to your individual growth.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily reconciliation of cash breaks, investigating and resolving exceptions promptly to ensure the accuracy of fund records.
- Review and constructively challenge quarterly Net Asset Values (NAVs), liaising directly with the fund administrator on NAV preparation as well as recurring investor reporting.
- Collaborate closely with external valuation agents to assist in producing quarterly real estate valuations and conducting detailed analysis of these valuations.
- Partner with the front office investment team to deliver property-level reporting and granular valuation analytics.
- Respond to detailed investor queries, demonstrating the ability to articulate and explain complex valuation movements clearly and confidently.
- Invoice payment processing for property and fund costs, ensuring strict adherence to all internal controls and anti-fraud policies.
- Review of UK GAAP and IFRS financial statements and overall management of the year-end audit cycle.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
