BUSINESS UNIT DESCRIPTION
CIBC’s Global Transaction Banking team provides clearing, deposit and trade finance solutions to financial institutions around the world. Leveraging its correspondent banking network and product expertise, the team plays an important role in supporting international growth and strengthening partnerships with leading global banks. In addition, the team partners closely with Corporate Banking Relationship Managers to lead sales and product development of deposit solutions to corporate clients across key sectors.
Overview of the function/ team.
The GTB EMEA team leads coverage of the Bank client sector across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, helping these clients access CIBC’s global capabilities and product expertise across the Payments vertical and broader Capital Markets solutions.
This role provides hands-on support to relationship managers across client coverage, sales, marketing and business development for a portfolio of leading EMEA banks.
You contribute directly to revenue generation across clearing, deposits and trade finance, gaining exposure to high-impact client activity and cross-border banking solutions.
The role also includes supporting the cash management solutions to Corporate Banking clients, including pricing management and trade booking.

JOB PURPOSE SUMMARY
- Play an active role in supporting the EMEA coverage lead to deepen client relationships and showcase the full breadth of CIBC’s products and services.
- Help manage a dynamic client portfolio, including responding to client requests, renewing bank limits, tracking pipeline opportunities and supporting AML and portfolio optimisation initiatives.
- Gain valuable experience executing Trade Finance transactions across international markets, including pricing analysis, client engagement and internal limit management.
- Contribute to new and evolving initiatives such as Environmental Social & Governance (ESG) deposits, liquidity management, deposit pricing and operational booking processes in Corporate Banking cash management.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support high-quality coverage of European, Middle Eastern and African financial institutions by helping drive client engagement, product execution and strategic business development:
- Take a leading role in supporting the deposit product offering, including commercial growth opportunities.
- Respond to Trade Finance requests, including Letters of Credit (LC) and Stand-by Letter of Credit (SBLC) transactions, by pricing deals, securing internal approvals, and managing credit limits.
- Prepare insightful briefing materials for senior management ahead of client meetings and major industry events.
- Assist with Compliance and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) reviews of our correspondent banking relationships.
- Provide responsive support for ad hoc client and senior management requests.
- Book corporate deposits accurately and efficiently, supporting the smooth delivery of client solutions.
