Role Summary

The Analyst will support the origination and execution of complex project finance and infrastructure transactions across the EMEA region. Working closely with Directors, Vice Presidents and transaction team leaders, the Analyst will assist with arranging and advisory mandates, including debt advisory and asset acquisition/disposal advisory assignments.

The role offers exposure to a broad range of infrastructure sectors, including transportation, social infrastructure, environmental services, regulated utilities and other infrastructure-related assets. The successful candidate will contribute to transaction execution, financial modelling, due diligence, credit processes, business development activities and portfolio management.

Key Responsibilities

Transaction Execution

  • Support transaction team leaders in assessing business opportunities and executing project finance and infrastructure transactions.
  • Prepare and analyse complex financial models to assess transaction feasibility, risk and returns.
  • Assist with technical, commercial, financial and legal due diligence processes.
  • Support the preparation and review of transaction documentation.
  • Assist in drafting internal credit applications and approval papers.
  • Support syndication activities, including preparation of Information Memoranda and management of lender Q&A processes.

Business Development & Sector Research

  • Support Directors and senior bankers in business origination activities.
  • Conduct sector research, market analysis and competitor reviews across infrastructure sectors.
  • Prepare client presentations, pitch books and marketing materials.
  • Identify industry trends and emerging opportunities within the infrastructure market.

Internal Reporting & Administration

  • Assist in maintaining transaction information within internal systems, including project tracking, transaction ratings and Equator Principles documentation.
  • Ensure accurate reporting of client metrics, including NBI, RWA and CWA, through internal reporting platforms.
  • Support client budgeting, planning and performance reporting processes.

Portfolio Management

  • Provide support for existing portfolio transactions, including:
    • Waivers and amendments
    • Annual reviews
    • Portfolio monitoring activities
    • Client reporting requirements

Collaboration

  • Work closely with internal stakeholders across:
    • Debt Capital Markets (DCM)
    • Infrastructure Capital Markets (ICM)
    • Global Markets
    • Debt Advisory & Restructuring
    • Global Investment Banking
    • Sustainable Banking
  • Contribute effectively to cross-functional transaction teams and client deliverables.

Experience

Essential

  • Relevant internship or work experience in project finance, infrastructure finance, corporate banking, investment banking or structured finance.
  • Exposure to financial analysis and cash flow modelling.
  • Understanding of corporate or project finance principles.

Desirable

  • Exposure to infrastructure transactions or structured finance transactions.
  • Experience supporting due diligence and financing documentation processes.
  • Knowledge of business or corporate banking environments.

Technical Skills & Knowledge

  • Understanding of project finance and structured finance concepts.
  • Strong financial modelling and spreadsheet analysis capability.
  • Understanding of accounting, valuation and financial statement analysis.
  • Basic understanding of risk analysis methodologies within structured transactions.
  • Awareness of the technical and commercial aspects of infrastructure projects.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word.
  • Strong numerical, analytical and research skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.

Qualifications

Essential

  • MBA, Master's Degree, Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Strong academic record.

Desirable

  • CFA (or progress towards CFA qualification).
  • Accounting qualification or accounting-related studies.
