Lead Business Data Analyst
Contract: Permanent
Shift pattern: Full-time, on-site
What You'll Be Doing
As the Lead Business Data Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in the Data Lynx delivery team, driving the business analysis approach for complex data initiatives. Your expertise will help translate strategic objectives into actionable insights, ensuring that our data products deliver real value to Boots, Boots Opticians, and the No7 Beauty Company. Collaborating closely with both business stakeholders and technology teams, you will lead efforts to enhance customer and patient experiences through data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead business and data analysis across complex initiatives, from discovery to delivery and benefits realisation.
- Translate complex needs into clear requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and data specifications.
- Provide direction, coaching, and quality assurance for Business Data Analysts, promoting consistent methods.
- Facilitate workshops and decision-making sessions that integrate business, data, and technology teams.
- Conduct data profiling and root-cause analysis to assess data structure, quality, and integrity.
- Use evidence and insights to challenge assumptions and recommend practical solutions.
- Contribute to Program Increment planning and Agile Release Train ceremonies.
- Communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
What You'll Need to Have (Our Must-Haves)
- Significant experience in business analysis, requirements engineering, and data analysis within complex environments.
- Proven track record of leading analysis activities and supporting the development of other analysts.
- Experience working with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interrogate complex datasets and translate findings into business recommendations.
- Proficiency in data visualisation tools and analytics platforms.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.

It Would Be Great If You Also Have
- Experience in retail, healthcare, or another data-rich customer environment.
- Proficiency in SQL, advanced Excel, Python, Tableau, or Power BI.
- Familiarity with Azure, Databricks, data warehousing, or database management.
- Knowledge of statistical analysis, predictive modelling, or machine learning.
