Analyst, Loan Asset Management / Loan Portfolio Management – Real Estate

Caravel are working with an established and growing real estate credit investor that is looking to hire an Analyst into its Loan Asset Management team.

The team manages a portfolio of short-term real estate loans across bridging, refurbishment and development finance, taking responsibility for loans following completion through construction, repayment and, where required, recovery.

Previous loan asset management experience isn't essential. This could suit someone at an early stage of their career within real estate, lending or credit who wants to develop broader commercial and analytical experience within real estate finance.

You might currently work within loan administration or servicing, credit analysis, surveying, property finance or another related area and be looking for a role that gives you greater exposure to how real estate loans and development projects are actively managed.

The Role

Working as part of the Loan Asset Management team, you will support the management and monitoring of a circa £1bn real estate loan portfolio.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the management of bridge, refurbishment and development loans following completion.
  • Reviewing drawdowns, extensions, redemptions, facility amendments and other loan events.
  • Monitoring development projects, including budgets, cashflow, progress against programme and changes to schemes.
  • Reviewing valuation and monitoring surveyor reports and supporting the assessment of stage payments.
  • Monitoring portfolio risks including maturities, covenant breaches, arrears and other early warning indicators.
  • Supporting the management of watchlist and non-performing loans where required.
  • Producing regular portfolio reporting for lenders and senior management.
  • Liaising with lenders, solicitors, surveyors and other external stakeholders.
  • Working closely with internal and outsourced teams to ensure loans are managed effectively.
  • Helping improve processes, reporting and the use of technology and AI across the Loan Asset Management function.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

You could, for example, be:

  • An early-career surveyor looking to move into the finance side of real estate.

  • A credit analyst interested in specialising within real estate.
  • A graduate or early-career professional with relevant experience across property, banking, lending or finance.

Whatever your background, you should have a genuine interest in real estate and credit, alongside strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

You'll need to be comfortable working with numbers and Excel, able to communicate effectively with different stakeholders and keen to develop your understanding of real estate lending, development projects and portfolio risk.

The Opportunity

This is a strong opportunity for someone looking to build a career within real estate credit.

Rather than being a purely administrative loan servicing position, you'll gain exposure to individual properties and development projects, understand how loans perform after they have been originated and gradually take on greater responsibility for assessing and managing risk across the portfolio.

You'll join a small and growing team managing a loan book of circa £1bn, providing a strong learning curve and the opportunity to take on meaningful responsibility as your experience develops.
